So here’s the thing,
Since taking the Weekly ChartStorm paid earlier this year
(after 7 years doing it for free)
Uptake has been solid, and paid subscribers love it
It’s a proven product, and I genuinely enjoy putting it together
BUT – growth has been a challenge: naturally, putting up a paywall makes things harder. But the other thing is social media companies have recently become increasingly adversarial to small businesses like mine (where they used to be a key way to introduce new people to my work)
This got me thinking…
What if there was a way to get around all those Big Tech gate-keepers?
Could we just go back to basics?
THE SOLUTION
Word-Of-Mouth (the old fashioned way!)
Here’s a way for you to help …and get helped
I’m implementing new referral program reward tiers so that if you introduce just 2 new subscribers (free or paid), you get 6-months of paid membership benefits for free as a token of my appreciation (value of $60.00)
now you might be thinking, hmm, I don’t know, is it really worth my effort?
So I’ve provided some ideas below to help make it easier on the referral front (some prompts on who to approach, how to approach, what to say)
And as a quick refresher, your complimentary paid membership rewards will give you the full Weekly ChartStorms (including all charts, commentary + bonus charts), participation in comment section Q&A, and access to the full report archives.
The real benefit of all that is:
Save time having to find all the info yourself
Gain perspective and get onto emerging trends and ideas
Make you (re)think and build your knowledge base
Also of interest — here’s what paid subscribers have to say about it:
“This service is like a weekly; hello - here are 10-11 things you should probably know about! Helps this retired guy hang on to what he's got and add to it with some confidence!”
“What I like is that you post charts that are relevant, but with a different angle than most other content. Gives me ideas for new things to consider or look into further.”
“I feel like your product is in a sweet spot of price and impact, particularly for those of us with an eye towards longer term investing and who want to understand the market better.”
ACTION TIME + Some Help
If you’ve read this far, you’re probably keen to help — and really it would be a huge favor to me if you join my little campaign here to spread the word
BUT, as noted, I’m not just going to leave you to it
I’m going to do the hard part for you…
Thinking!
To make it easier I’m going to give you ideas on who to approach, how to approach them, and what to say – I appreciate your help, so I don’t want to just chuck you in the deep end and let you sink or swim. Here’s the plan:
Who to approach (you can probably think of names for each of these prompts):
Family: brother, sister, parents, children, in-laws, cousins
Work: team-mates, colleagues, clients, suppliers, competitors
Friends: online, offline, sports club, church, neighbor, family friends
Others: your advisors (accountant, broker, banker), social media followers
How to approach them (remember to include your referral link):
Email, Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter Post or Direct Message, Text Message, forum post, or maybe even a written note!
What to say (as a starter, but feel free to use your own words):
Check out the “Weekly S&P500 ChartStorm” – this guy puts together an easy to read chart-focused update on the markets. I find it’s interesting and helpful + saves time having to find all the info myself. See: [add your referral link]
>> NOTE: to get your personalized referral link please visit this page (and then you can copy/paste it into your note) — or use the button below:
Hopefully that all makes sense, and you have a clear idea of what to do next
Again, I really appreciate any help you can offer to get the word out
and p.s. I’m going to keep you updated on our progress with this referral drive (I’ll provide updates over the next few days in the comment section of this article)
Let’s see what we can do here — should be interesting!
Thanks and best regards,
Callum Thomas

Like your idea and have referred a friend but the sign up process to the shared app your using is full of error messages
UPDATE: so far 24 of you have referred a total of 40 people, great start!
